NWLA Tournament Fantasy Draft
by Trent Steffes

What started as a mere conversation among the NWLA Ranking committee group-chat quickly turned into the painstakingly long, and erratic concept that was the NWLA Tournament Mock Draft. The topic of conversation was “who would be the #1 pick in a fantasy draft of NWLA tournament players?” And from there we talked it up into the actual mock draft.
So I gathered six of the best NWLA Tournament minds (and Auston Steffes) and entered the list of participants into a random list generator to get our order. From there, the eight drafters would pick from the pool of every NWLA tournament player ever, in a snake-style draft until they filled out a six-player roster. One of the stipulations was that if the drafter wanted himself on a team, he must draft himself. But besides that, there were no parameters limiting who a drafter could take. A total of 48 players from 16 different leagues were taken, with WSEM leading the way with seven total players selected. 41 of those 48 players were on an active roster in 2016. Thirteen NWLA Tournament Champions were taken, and 100% of the 2016 SWBL Cardinals roster was selected.
Here are the results of the NWLA Tournament Fantasy Mock Draft.
