North Stars Announce 4 Players

Yesterday, it was announced that HRL would be hosting the June 25th regional in the 2016 NWLA Tournament. And with that announcement, the gears started turning in the machine that is the MNWA North Stars and offers were extended to four players. Without further ado, here are the first four players who will be playing for the North Stars at Sky Hill Park in Eagan on June 25:
Trent Steffes, Bad Company
Steffes will return for his third year both playing and managing this organization. He will reprise his role as Extra Hitter and Extra Super Duper Emergency Pitcher. Trent is a 5x All-Star and currently plays for and manages Bad Comapny in MNWA and the Mariners in HRL.
Devin Nelson, Dragons
Devin returns for his third season with the team as the favorite to be the ace once again. Devin has struck out 50 batters in NWLA Tournament has faced a whopping 235. At the plate he boasts a .377 BA with 8 Dongers. He led his Dragons to a MNWA championship last season and looks to do the same this year.
Matt Newell, Bad Company
Newell returns to the regionals squad, this time with his sights set on Ohio. Last year, he missed out due to a prior commitment but this year he comes into the starting rotation committed to getting the North Stars to Ohio.
Peter Monsrud, Buxtons
Peter Monsrud was the leader in batting average in both rounds of the 2015 NWLA Tournament. Peter comes back to the lineup bring his elite speed and fielding, which earned him the 2015 MN State Fielder of the Year honors.
Zach Bussmann, Dragons
Zach Bussmann is the lone NWLA rookie committed to the team right now. Zach was slated to go to Ohio for the 2014 Tournament on the inaugural Gophers team but couldn't at the last minute. This year, the 4-time Pitcher of the Year joins an already solid staff of starters to show off the stuff that has won him nearly every award in MNWA.
