MNWA All-State Nominations
2/3/2016
by Trent Steffes
Earlier this week on Monday February 1, the Wiffle World had a new precedent set. The trio of Zack Eustis, Trent Steffes and head John Cronin released a new website, mnwiffleballrankings.com. Essentially, the site performs the same duties as NWLA does, but on the Minnesota state level. Basically, we're dealing with National level and State level recognition and rankings websites. The site debuted with the first edition of the Minnesota All-State Wiffleball teams. The teams were named based on votes from all three committee members, and compiled accordingly. MNWA received 14 nominations total, and that's just with players claiming MNWA as their main league. Here's the full list of nominations from the MNWA:
First Team Pitcher: Zach Bussmann, Big B's (Dragons)
First Team Hitter: Peter Monsrud, Buxtons
First Team Hitter: Jordan Johnson, Buxtons
First Team Fielder: Peter Monsrud, Buxtons
First Team Fielder: Jay Zimmerman, Dragons
Second Team Pitcher: Devin Nelson, Dragons

Honorable Mention Fielder: Zach Bussmann, Big B's (Dragons)
In addition to his other two nominations, Peter Monsrud was named the Minnesota State Fielder of the Year!
There were also players that are currently on MNWA rosters but are claimed by other leagues that receiver nominations. Those players were:
First Team Pitcher: Zack "Dr. Seuss" Eustis, Bad Company (HRL)
Second Team Pitcher: John Cronin, Elites (SFWL)
Second Team Hitter: Sam Essen, Bad Company (SFWL)
Honorable Mention Hitter: John Cronin, Elites (SFWL)

Dr. Seuss was also named the Minnesota State Pitcher of the Year.
Congrats to all the players listed above! We will continue to set wiffleball precedents moving forward, and MNWA looks to get even more players on the teams next year.
